Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to stop suddenly?

Not always. Stopping alcohol, sleeping tablets or opioids suddenly can be risky; seek medical advice first.

What is medication-assisted treatment?

Prescribed medicines, such as buprenorphine for opioid dependence, used under supervision as part of wider care.

Is relapse a failure?

No. Relapse can happen in recovery; it is a reason to review and strengthen the plan.
