Addiction Psychiatry and Recovery Care with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar

Addiction psychiatry treats dependence on drugs, alcohol or prescription medicines as a health condition, alongside any depression, anxiety or other mental health problems that often accompany it. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar begins with a confidential assessment of substance use, physical and mental health, withdrawal risk and personal goals. Not everyone needs detoxification or inpatient care; the setting is chosen according to clinical risk and circumstances. Plans may include medically supervised withdrawal, medication-assisted treatment where appropriate, psychological support, family involvement and relapse-prevention follow-up.

How consultations work

Consultations with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar take place in person in Lahore or through a secure video call when clinically appropriate. The first appointment is a full assessment and is longer than a follow-up. Please bring a list of your current medicines and any previous reports.

Frequently asked questions
