Behaviour Problems in Children: Assessment and Guidance

Frequent tantrums, defiance, aggression or rule-breaking can be exhausting for families and worrying for schools. Behaviour problems often have underlying reasons, such as ADHD, anxiety, learning difficulties, family stress or difficult experiences. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar assesses the child's behaviour across settings, development and emotional health, and listens to parents' experience. Structured parenting approaches are often the first step, alongside support for any underlying condition. Medication is considered only for specific conditions where it is clinically appropriate. Progress is reviewed with parents at follow-up appointments.

How consultations work

Consultations with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar take place in person in Lahore or through a secure video call when clinically appropriate. The first appointment is a full assessment and is longer than a follow-up. Please bring a list of your current medicines and any previous reports.
