Developmental Concerns in Children: Psychiatric Assessment
Parents may notice that a child is slower than others to talk, play, learn or manage everyday skills, or that development seems to have stopped or gone backwards. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar assesses development, behaviour and emotional wellbeing, and considers whether other professionals, such as paediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists or psychologists, should be involved. The aim is to understand the child's strengths and needs and to guide parents towards the right mix of support at home, at school and in therapy.
How consultations work
Consultations with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar take place in person in Lahore or through a secure video call when clinically appropriate. The first appointment is a full assessment and is longer than a follow-up. Please bring a list of your current medicines and any previous reports.
