Child and Adolescent Assessments: What to Expect
A child psychiatric assessment brings together information from several sources to understand a child's difficulties. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar spends time with parents to take a developmental, family and health history, and with the child or young person in a way that suits their age. With your consent, questionnaires or reports from school may be used. The assessment may take more than one appointment. Findings are explained to the family, including any diagnosis and the recommended next steps. Parents are welcome to ask questions throughout.
How consultations work
Consultations with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar take place in person in Lahore or through a secure video call when clinically appropriate. The first appointment is a full assessment and is longer than a follow-up. Please bring a list of your current medicines and any previous reports.
