Exomind (rTMS) treatment

Exomind (rTMS) Treatment: Assessment with Dr. Shoaib Zafar

Exomind is a form of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses applied to the scalp. It is not suitable for everyone, so the first step is a psychiatric assessment with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar to understand your symptoms, previous treatments, medical history and any reasons rTMS might not be safe for you. If it is considered appropriate, the number and schedule of sessions, likely side effects and how progress will be reviewed are explained before you decide whether to go ahead.

How consultations work

Consultations with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar take place in person in Lahore or through a secure video call when clinically appropriate. The first appointment is a full assessment and is longer than a follow-up. Please bring a list of your current medicines and any previous reports.

Frequently asked questions

Is rTMS painful?

It does not involve surgery or anaesthesia. Some people feel tapping or scalp discomfort during sessions, and mild headaches can occur.

Can everyone have rTMS?

No. Some medical conditions and metal implants near the head can rule it out, which is why assessment comes first.

Does it replace my current treatment?

Usually not. It is generally considered alongside, not instead of, existing care, and this is discussed individually.
