Adult Psychiatric Assessments: What to Expect
A psychiatric assessment is a detailed conversation that helps make sense of what you are experiencing. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar will ask about your current symptoms, when they started, your past and family history, physical health, medicines, substance use, relationships, work and safety. Questionnaires may be used, and blood tests or other investigations are suggested only where they are relevant. At the end, findings are explained in plain language, along with any diagnosis and the treatment options available, so you leave knowing the next steps.
How consultations work
Consultations with Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar take place in person in Lahore or through a secure video call when clinically appropriate. The first appointment is a full assessment and is longer than a follow-up. Please bring a list of your current medicines and any previous reports.
